In the world of wacky news, a Tennessee prison inmate won a settlement of $95,000 after a prison guard ripped out his gold teeth. Davidson County Sheriff’s Lt. Tanya Mayhew asked inmate Anthony McCoy to remove the gold from his teeth while being processed at the jail. McCoy informed the guard that the gold was permanently attached to his teeth and could not be removed and the guard proceeded to remove the gold by hand. McCoy’s attorney claimed that his client’s enamel was ripped from four teeth and that his client was only given Tylenol for medical treatment until about two weeks later when a dentist was called.
Taypayer’s in Tennessee probably aren’t too happy about being stuck with the $95,000 bill. Lt. Mayhew was demoted and received five days suspension. The hillbilly ignorant jailer thought it was a job perk! Desperate people do desperate things!
They need to get real. The article says there’s no policy against gold-plated teeth. The guard was on a power trip, pure and simple. Must have been PMS time.
I heard he was in there for not paying child support. If he did get locked up for child support I know the baby’s mother is smiling. But who on earth grills gold to there teeth.
I don’t like the criminal guy, but I don’t think they should have jerked out his dental device. If it was glued to his teeth, they should have had some kind of meeting about whether he was required to remove it or not.
Give some people a badge and a gun ,then they feel they can do whatever they want. She had no business putting her hand in his mouth. What was she thinking? Was she really that angry? I don’t think she should still be on the police force. She may go off again on someone else. This time , it could turn out to be deadly. I think she is a liability.
Oops wrong move. I wonder what the government is thinking right now. The guy is lucky I guess, now he can finally pay for his child support.
I can’t even imagine this, but I must agree the inmate is lucky at this point. He got rich in jail, what a good thing to take away from jail.
I’ve some old precious metal jewelry and I want to sell it for cash. Previous questions/ answers have said that you should market right to a refiner. Is there anywhere within the Boston area wherever this is possible? How do I know they’re giving me a fair price?
